Okay so this is where it started. In a frustrating tweet, I did not get into the sample sale. What I saw at the booth at AX was awesome and I was very excited for a shot. I kept it up on Twitter (well before it was taken over by bigots and bots) just with playful images every day of cursed dice. Look, if I’m not getting the pretty math rocks, they can endure seeing SpaghettiOs dice. I eventually got to the point where there was nothing left on the internet to tweet. I had to start staging my own photos. Spelling out “Eat the dice” with some of my own collection. They’d occasionally respond with how cursed the stuff was. Success!

We eventually sent some DM, then emailed. Somewhere along the way, we talked about playing D&D (or the lack of it) and I sent an offer over to Karen to join our campaign! Mr. Frog was a valuable asset and his fireball usage will be forever cherished. We got to chatting a bit about gaming and conventions and art and stuff and became friends. I got to support the Kickstarter, but only after HUNDREDS of cursed tweets. But before that came to be and the delivery of it, Karen sent me an experimental set of dice. They were uninked and I grabbed some acrylic paint and learned how to number them. I finally had a set! No more cursed tweets.

I’ll share next time what happened next and how the meeting at the anime convention led to more developments in my tabletop experience!
